FILMS IN DEVELOPMENT ONSITE AND ONLINE ON WEDNESDAY 30 MARCH 2022

 

For this 17th edition, Films in development is in two places at once to allow the selected directors and the participating professionals to meet face-to-face in Toulouse (at the Conseil Départemental de la Haute-Garonne) AND online on Wednesday 30 March 2022 (10:00 am - 7:00 pm French time).

The meetings are open to all professionals interested in the projects in progress but also in the films of the directors selected in the festival.

Directors selected for the festival

  • Sol BERRUEZO PICHON-RIVIÈRE (Argentina) will present her new project Amor, sexo y lágrimas.
    Her film Mamá, Mamá, Mamá is part of the section Découverte Fiction.
  • Mariano CÓCOLO (Argentina) will present his new project Las Tumanas.
    His film La Calma is part of the section Fiction feature film competition.

  • Ana ENDARA (Panama) will present her new project Beloved Tropic.

  • Gustavo GAMERO (Mexico) will present his new project Saved Images.
    His film Tierra is part of the section Fiction Short Film Competition.

  • Ezequiel SALINAS & Ramiro SONZINI (Argentina) will present their new project My last adventure.

AWARDS

BRLAB award

The BrLab is an annual event aimed at future films in development and financing stages organized since 2011 in Brazil. Currently, it is the only meeting event in Brazil that receives projects from all over Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula and brings together in its program different workshops, seminars and international meetings. The event has become a space where professionals spontaneously merge to establish contacts around new projects and creative ideas. The main workshop is called BrLab Features and has accumulated success stories of films released internationally. The BrLab invites the winning project to the next edition of BrLab Features organized in São Paulo in November, 2022.

LE-LOKAL award

Le-loKal is a welcoming and ambitious production company with recognised expertise in post-production. Established for 19 years in the Occitanie Region, it has developed numerous documentary, animation and short film projects. When it comes to post-production, high end equipment, universal workflow as well as high-rate skills allow to provide innovative technique solution, perfectly fitting specific needs. The lokal will offer a grant of 3. 500 € for post-production services. This grant will be awarded to one of the project selected at the end of the Film in Development meetings. It is valid for subtitling, credits with master releases and festival cuts and DCP with staff salaries included and/or calibration (with technicians).

LIZIÈRES award

Lizières is a cultural and resources center located in the east of Paris, on the artist Ramuntcho Matta’s initiative. A “lisière” is an edge, an area not clearly defined between two spaces – physical, mental, aesthetic… Since 2011, Lizières has welcomed around ten artists per year, plastic artists, musicians, writers, philosophers and researchers. Filmmaker Chris Marker helped to conceive the location. The Award will allow a director to benefit from a month of residency at Lizières. A month of life, work, support and encounters, capable of nourishing his/her film project, of refining its intention and multiplying its possibilities.
