Mexico City, 1996. When Bruno turns 11 he gets a crush on his best friend Vladimir. That night, Bruno’s father is diagnosed with HIV. After the news, the family dynamics start changing in unexpected, tender and liberating ways.

Bruno Santamaría Razo

Bruno Santamaría is a graduate of the Centro de Formación Cinematográfica (Film Training Centre). Margarita (2016) marked his debut as a director and signalled his approach to cinema based on reality. His next documentary, Cosas que no hacemos (Things We Don’t Do, 2020), have been awarded and recognised in several countries, including the James Blue Award for the Promotion of New Filmmakers and the BAFICI Grand Prize.
