Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse invites Latin American directors to submit their works (feature films and short films) in the genres of fiction, documentary, animation, essay, and experimental to the selection process for the 39th edition of the Cinélatino festival, which will take place in the city of Toulouse, in the Haute-Garonne Department and in Occitanie region, France, from 12 to 21 March 2027.
Registration is free and can only be done using the online registration form, available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English, which you will find at the bottom of the page.
The various selection committees for the Festival will consider all films submitted to the 39th edition of Cinelatino, Rencontres de Toulouse. All films submitted will be considered for any of the Festival sections that make up the programme.
The call for films will be open from July 9 to October 1st of 2026. The call for films for Cine en Construcción will open at the end of October 2026.
The sections of the festival are:
1. Competitive sections, films produced in 2025, 2026
The director must be Latin American.
1.1 Feature
- Feature fiction competition (11 films, the French première required)
- Feature documentary competition (6 films, the French première required)
1.2 Short
- Short Fiction competition (8 films, maximum running time: 25 minutes, the French première is not required)
- Short documentary competition (5 films, maximum running time: 25 minutes, the French première is not required)
- Short animation competition (7 films, maximum running time: 25 minutes, the French première is not required)
2. Non-competitive sections, films released in 2025, 2026, 2027
2.1 Feature fiction and documentary
- Découverte feature fiction (films with a commercial release planned between March and July 2027 )
- Découverte feature documentary (10 films)
- Reprise (films released in France during 2026 and early 2027)
The films with a French distributor attached and released between November and June 2027 if they are selected in Découverte can be considered for Cinélatino en Région
2.2 Young audience
- short and feature films
3. For the following sections of the Muestra there is no call for films
- Focus
- Otra Mirada
- Tango
Non-Latin American directors and producers whose films are related to Latin America may also participate, and their films may be selected for the non-competitive sections.
